Total FX Fireworks FAQs
Do I need permission to set off fireworks?
There is no need to get permission or a licence to set off fireworks, they are completely legal if you are setting them off in your back garden. Private firework displays have no rules and no formalities need to be followed, so you don’t need to inform anyone (but perhaps your neighbours). The only time you would need to get permission to set off fireworks is if you are planning to set them off on property that isn’t yours, such as a pub garden or in a park, especially if you are charging people to watch.
Can I let off fireworks in my garden?
At Let’s Party Fireworks, most of our fireworks are category 3, meaning you will need to leave at least 25 meters for viewing distance. Some fireworks we sell are category 2 and with these it’s recommended to leave a viewing distance of 5 meters, luckily meaning they are suitable for smaller gardens. You will need to be aware of dangerous hazards in your garden, like overhanging trees, long grass or extra narrow gardens. You can speak to one of our experts if you need some advice about the fireworks for your garden or outside space.

What does the weather need to be like to set off fireworks?
To set off any fireworks, you will need to have dry weather. Some don’t let bad weather affect their displays, whilst others will get more affected by wind, rain or snow. You can protect fireworks from any rainfall with polythene bags or clingfilm. If you have very strong winds in your area, it might be best to set the fireworks off another day. Don’t light a bonfire if it’s windy and rainy either as it will just go out.
